The stock photography website Crestock is sponsoring a photography contest, and the first round theme is The Meaning of Life. I took a long look through my pictures from the last two and a half years, and I came up with this photograph to enter in the contest. It's a pictures I took during the Art Deco Festival in Napier, New Zealand. For two days, there were bands playing all over the streets, and people would just gather to dance. I was fortunate to get this picture, and I love the relationship between the two girls in the foreground and the old coupe in the background. It emphasizes the timelessness of dancing, that it is something that everyone can enjoy. I'm sure people (art historians) could read a lot into the meaning of the photograph, but I just want leave it at "I like the photo".

After a couple days of voting, I'm doing decently well. I strongly doubt that I'll manage to pull off a win, but it sure would be nice. The prize is a Leica D-LUX 3 camera, one I've had my eye on for awhile. The next round's theme is Feeling Sexy, and round three is Speed.
